We helped a materials lab make testing more energy-efficient and lower-waste without sacrificing precision.

## The Challenge

Materials testing has long prioritized precision and reliability, but also relied heavily on energy and single-use consumables. It was time to add sustainability to that list.

## Solution

We built a three-part framework:

1. **Method replacement** — substitute dry or low-volume equivalents for solvent-heavy tests where feasible.
2. **Sample efficiency** — reduce raw material and handling per test.
3. **Smart instrumentation** — upgrade core equipment with energy-efficient modes and auto-shutoff.

## Result

After implementation we saw a 32% drop in lab solvent use, 19% lower electricity, 42% less single-use plastic, and 25% faster test cycles.
